Jacob Update 11/25/08: It’s been too long!
Matt | November 25, 2008So much has happened since my last post a month ago. I’m going to try my best to remember everything that’s happened. Let’s start with Halloween!
Halloween
Mommy brought Jacob by my office to meet my co-workers and show off his costume. After trying on his pea-in-a-pod outfit earlier in October we realized it was going to be too small by the end of the month. We found an adorable giraffe costume for him. The problem was 1) it was very hot and 2) our son is very opinionated and he decided he didn’t like it. The next day we took him over to a friend’s house for a Halloween party and he lasted a little bit longer in his costume. Here are the shots from the office, the party and next to his best buddy Adam the lion.
Toofers
Jacob sprouted another tooth and now has both of his bottom teeth! We have a few photos that show his teeth off and he is absolutely adorable when he gives a toothy smile. I was talking to a co-worker and was surprised to hear her tell me her dentist recommends bringing the kid in at 6 months. Jennifer brought Jacob to his pediatric dentist, which was a referral from a friend. The place is decked out in kid decor and the dentist was very friendly. Despite all of that, Jacob does not like his mouth being messed with. The dentist gave Jennifer tips for his dental health.
Food
Jacob has entered the big boy world of solid foods. He loves to eat pears, squash, sweet potatos, apple sauce, prunes, green beans, carrots, baby mac & cheese, and chicken & rice. He’s a great eater, but sometimes gets a little involved by putting his hands all over his messy face and biting down on the spoon. Jacob also tried little rice puffs for the first time and isn’t quite sure about the texture yet. They disolve quickly in his mouth and are pretty tasty in my opinion.
Crawling
Jacob is really close to crawling now. He is able to get up on his hands and knees and lunge forward, but he hasn’t figured out how to put his hands and knees in sync to get moving. He has found a system that works for him and it’s hilarious. He basically looks like Lt. Dan from Forest Gump as he pulls himself across the floor like his legs are paralyzed.
Videos
They are uploading and I will get them up soon!
Misc Photos
Jacob is getting so big! He has to be well over 20lbs now and he is getting a little big for 9 month clothing. He’s a very active little guy so I’m sure he will burn it off in due time.
Matt’s Job
I am very excited to share that I received a promotion to commercial insurance product manager. I was an associate product manager for personal auto so this is a whole new world for me. I get to work with a new underwriting team so it’s great that I have formed relationships in personal lines and I can create new friendships in commercial lines.
