Literally! She got a notice in the mail today that there is a warrant out for her arrest from the lovely Superior Court of Sacramento. This stems from a ticket she got about a month ago for driving without a front license plate. Never mind that VW let us drive away three years ago without mounting the bracket and plate.
Right after she got the ticket, Jennifer went through the annoying effort to get the plate mounted at the dealership and then made a trip to the CHP office to get the ticket signed off. She then mailed the docs and a check for $10 to take care of the situation well within the time specified on the ticket.Thankfully I instructed her to make copies of everything before sending it out. This advice is due to countless rebates that made their way to the rebate Bermuda Triangle. Jennifer has been a little nervous about the ticket the last couple days because the check hasn’t cleared. Sure enough, she is greeted with a nasty letter stating she can be arrested at any place, at any time, including our home because the Superior Court didn’t get our $10 and signed of fix-it ticket. There is also a nice $495 bail amount listed. Give me a freaking break.
It appears the form letter is the same for not having a front license plate as it is for, say, dealing drugs. Now Jennifer has to go to court to clear the whole mess up, what a pain!
