Wife of the Decade

Matt | October 23, 2007

Wii LogoLet me start this off by saying I have the #1 wife in the world. I’m sorry to every other guy out there because you have, at best, the #2 wife in the world. If #2 is even close to Jennifer then you’re still doing OK.

So my wife spends 24 hours of her day creating life for our family, which is amazing enough. I know I would not be able to deal with the drastic changes that occur during pregnancy. To make things worse, I have been consistently pestering her about how cool the new Nintendo Wii is and how they can’t be found in any store locally. Well I was at Best Buy yesterday and I saw they just received a fresh shipment of three Wii’s. I half-jokingly took a photo of the real-life Wii and sent it to her phone. The reply I got was “Leave me alone,” which I know she sent with a smirk on her face. I expected the reply and laughed and went on with my day. I got home around 5:00pm and Jennifer was already home, which wasn’t unusual. We went into the bedroom to get out of our work clothes then headed to the kitchen to figure out dinner. After a few minutes of going back and forth on dinner plans she grabbed my hand and took me out to the living room where low-and-behold there was a shiny white box with those magical words “Wii”!!!! She immediately called Best Buy after I sent the photo and tried to hold a Wii, which they declined due to the demand. So my pregnant wife left her desk at work and picked up a Wii for me.

Needless to say I spent most of last night swinging the Wiimote around like a fool while trying to master my tennis technique. I’ll have more reviews in the future, but right now I’m just getting into the thing and having a blast. I can’t wait to get home and play my Wiiiiiiiiiii!!!

Baby Mallory – Look Out World!

Matt | October 11, 2007

Jennifer and I are going to be parents! We have to wait until April 26th to meet the little guy/girl, but the wait is well worth it. We’re both feeling things out as they come along and learning a lot. Jennifer says she’s feeling better after a first trimester of off/on nausea and “always on” fatigue. All in all I would say her pregnancy has been very normal. She hasn’t been hunched over, but she also hasn’t been 100%. It’s always good to hear her complain her tummy doesn’t feel good because it lets me know things are still going on in there. We always picture the little guy/girl scrunching his face and concentrating when Jennifer starts to feel sick. I will be sure to post pictures to the site as we get them. Our next appointment is in November so we won’t have new ultrasound pics until then.

  • Matt I just submitted a request to Service Magic for an electrician to install a chandelier for us. Does anybody have a licensed electrician referral? The ceiling is about 22ft high and we need to move the chandelier a couple feet. March 6, 2010

  • Jennifer JD has been working on counting over the past month. He would say, "One, two, Fiiiiiive." No 3 or 4. Tonight, out of nowhere he counted to 4 all by himself. I feel proud of him as his Mommy, but so sad at the same time when I see my baby growing up soooooo fast. March 11, 2010
