Back From New York City

Matt | November 26, 2006

Jennifer and I just got back from NYC last night. Jennifer had been to NY before, but this was my first time in the city. We went with our good friends, Grant and Heather. It gave me a new perspective on how small Sacramento is. We did so much in four full days and had an amazing time. I’ll put up a day by day, but I’m too lazy now. Until then, enjoy our photos from the trip!

Idiots Waiting for PS3 in the Rain

Matt | November 16, 2006

It’s Jennifer’s birthday today and I got her a full spa package. It started at 9am and I had some time to kill so I drove over to Target. I tried Best Buy first, but they didn’t open until 10:00. The temperature was about 50 degrees and rainy. When I got to Target I found these idiots camped outside in the rain waiting for the PS3. Only 400,000 are making it to the US shores for launch day so the chances of the 5th guy in line getting one is pretty slim. Factor in lost time and pneumonia and I can’t imagine doing this for a freaking video game console. What idiots.

I don’t want to hear about how these guys can sell it on eBay for $1,000. When the damn thing costs $600 to begin with, $400 isn’t worth it.

Sitting Courtside with the Kings!

Matt | November 12, 2006

Tonight I had one of the most amazing experiences. Thanks to my wonderful wife (and Wells Fargo) I was able to sit on King’s Row at Arco Arena! The face price on the ticket was an unbelievable $965!!! Since Jennifer works for Wells Fargo I have been able to watch a couple games in the Wells Fargo suite halfway up the arena. Before today’s game that was the closest I’ve been to the action on the court. I can’t explain how exciting it was to sit so close. I had Bibby, Artest, and Kevin Martin feet away as they inbounded the ball right in front of me. I felt like I was in a movie as the players ran around within arm’s reach It will be a memory that I hang on to for a long time. I imagine I won’t be able to enjoy a game from the nose-bleeds now that I’ve had a taste of the good life. Seriously, how can you go back to SPAM after eating filet mignon?

  • Matt I just submitted a request to Service Magic for an electrician to install a chandelier for us. Does anybody have a licensed electrician referral? The ceiling is about 22ft high and we need to move the chandelier a couple feet. March 6, 2010
